Figen Suite Hotel is a new property in the district of Kepez, a quiet residential suburb to the south of central Canakkale. More an aparthotel than a regular hotel, it offers large rooms with kitchenettes and separate sitting areas. Its main clientele are families looking for extra space, professionals coming to the nearby university or research hospital on business, and road-trippers either way toward Izmir looking for a comfy stopover without battling city traffic into town. This was firmly at my own shortlist top end: functional over historic; more interested in space and cleanliness than location within walking distance of every major sight.

  • × Amenity levels compare more to the boutique guesthouse end than full-service resort territory; typically no swimming pool, gym, or full-service dinner restaurant on site.
